Brick teepees

Composite mural by Raymond Dupuis (Wolustuk)
Brick teepees
May 28 - August 13

A panorama of the artist's urban existence, a 90-foot mural is made up of composite works, a series of signposts along a long, patient journey over a re-imagined and transfigured territory. The hidden signs of our island and city's Amerindianity become an array of kaleidoscopic flashes. The spirit of the place becomes a volcano: its eruption is a feast for the eyes and its outpouring a torrent of luminous intuitions, propelling themselves in the joyful graffiti of their mark on the city. A long-haul work, Tipis de briques intends to tag its feverish imprint on the imaginary landscape of a city that for too long has camouflaged its affiliation with the world of the First Nations.
