Makivik Corporation and the Native Friendship Centre of Montréal cordially invite you to an exhibit of the work of Inuit carvers that visit the Mikinak Youth Coop of the Friendship Centre.

The Native Friendship Centre of Montréal is one of Makivik five partners in Montréal providing services and social programs to Inuit in Montréal that are low-income or in difficulty. 

This unique partnership between Makivik and the Centre provide Inuit youth carvers an opportunity to develop their skills, self-esteem and culture strength, and explore economic opportunities for the marketing of their pieces of art.

The Inuit carvers gave the name TAKU to their exhibit which means ‘see’ in Inuktitut.  The art gallery is located at Galerie Carte Blanche, 1851 Amherst Street in Montréal, Canada.  The gallery will be opened July 29, 2015 to August 5, 2015 from 11:00am to 9:00pm.  The exhibit TAKU will take place at the same time of the Festival Présence Autochtone Montréal, a major annual festival of Aboriginal peoples.

The official vernissage at the gallery will take place on Thursday July 30th at 6:00pm.
