Born and raised on the Kahnawake Mohawk Territory, Tracey Deer is a prolific filmmaker. Deer has written and directed several award-winning projects for the Aboriginal-run film and television production company, Rezolution Pictures, as well as her own independent work.

In 2014, Deer was able to turn her feature documentary Mohawk Girls into a drama TV series of the same title. A very unique experience.
