The right side of the work shows a priest from the Catholic Church preaching to his faithful who are kneeling with their hands folded in prayer. He holds his bible (the book) high as if he were imposing a new law, as he crushes a teueikan, the sacred drum of the Innu, underfoot. The patinated plaster imitates bronze: greenish tones embellished with golden highlights.
